Social Impact Lifestyle Brand Case Study
Introduction
Water Counts is a social impact lifestyle brand. It was designed to solve our global drinking problem by connecting personal wellness to collective responsibility.
Built as a social enterprise by Vivid Academy, Water Counts curates and creates everyday products that invite people to drink, live, and give clean water. The goal was to turn daily habits into meaningful impact.
The Context: Building a Social Impact Lifestyle Brand
Water is essential to life, dignity, and economic opportunity. Yet, for many, the global clean water crisis feels distant and abstract. Nearly everyone understands that water matters. However, far fewer feel personally connected to the problem or empowered to participate in the solution.
At the same time, even in communities with access to clean water, unhealthy consumption habits persist. The issue isn’t only scarcity—it’s relationship.
The Challenge of a Social Impact Lifestyle Brand
As a social impact lifestyle brand, Water Counts needed to reframe the clean water conversation in a way that felt personal, joyful, and actionable.
The challenge was to:
-
Personalize a global problem without relying on guilt or charity narratives
-
Create sustainable revenue through daily-use lifestyle products
-
Position drinking water as a joyful, intentional ritual—not just a necessity
-
Bridge personal wellness with global social impact
Water Counts required a brand experience that could hold all of this at once.
The Strategic Approach
Designing a Social Impact Lifestyle Brand Around Daily Habits:
Adam Red approached Water Counts not as a campaign, but as a lifestyle movement.
Rather than asking people to care more, the strategy focused on helping people participate differently. By designing Water Counts as a social impact lifestyle brand, the work centered on three principles:
-
Drink – Celebrate hydration as a life-giving, daily choice
-
Live – Connect water consumption to vitality, joy, and artful living
-
Give – Link everyday behavior to clean water access in the U.S. and Africa
This approach allowed Water Counts to meet people where they already were—at the intersection of habit, health, and identity. They invited them to, “Shop our selection of bkr reusable glass water bottles with silicone sleeves. You’ll never drink alone again.”

What Was Built
Adam Red reimagined Water Counts as a curated ecosystem of lifestyle products and storytelling designed to celebrate H2Ohhh!™ and invite participation.
The work included:
-
A cohesive brand identity rooted in joy, dignity, and responsibility
-
Artfully designed products for daily use that transform hydration into ritual
-
Story-driven messaging that connects real lives to real impact
-
A clear value proposition where wellness meets generosity—wellthy
Each product serves as a call to action: drink clean water, live vividly, and give clean water to others.
Results
Water Counts emerged as a social impact lifestyle brand that transforms how people relate to water.
Instead of feeling distant from the problem, customers see themselves as active participants in the solution. Through thoughtful design and storytelling, the act of drinking water becomes an empowering, meaningful experience—one that connects personal health to global change.
People don’t just use Water Counts products. They adopt a lifestyle that says: we’ve got a drinking problem—and we can solve it together.

Future Growth
To continue expanding its impact, Water Counts is positioned to:
-
Release new lifestyle products quarterly
-
Host pop-up experiences that deepen community connection
-
Develop manufacturing programs in underserved communities
-
Partner with artists, NGOs, manufacturers, and corporations advancing clean water solutions
Each next step reinforces Water Counts as a social impact lifestyle brand built for scale, participation, and long-term change.
